this lesson is an introduction to servers
The content
we will talk about the following points
point1: what are the servers?
point2: server types
point3: sever shapes
point4: severs famous companies
point5: the best environment for servers
point6: showing servers inside with pictures
point 1: what are the servers?
it's a usual commuter device such as a personal computer
it designed for working for a long time
without an outage and so
it has very high resources from RAM,
processors, hard disks, power and others
the very important thing is that:
it gives the specific service for users
point 2: Sever types
each server takes its type
from the service type it gives
the common types are
web server, FTP server, mail server,
VPN server, DNS server, and others
each server of
them introduce a specific service for the user
for example, web server introduces
websites service
the FTP server introduces data transportation service
mail server introduces email services
VPN server introduces a private secure connection service
DNS server introduces resolving IP and name service
point 3: The Common Shapes
there are two major shapes
1- the horizontal shape and it's widely spread in data centers
2- the vertical shape and is more used in the companies
point 4: The Famous Producers
and we'll mention here three of them
1- IBM company and 2- Lenovo
company and 3- Dell company
which its servers are widely spread
point 5: The Best Environment:
the servers need putting in places which accomplish all
it needs from calling power, organizing and others,
these places are called data centers
these are two images that show data centers from inside
in brief data centers includes cabinets and each cabinet
includes racks and each rack includes a number of servers
Point 6: Showing Servers Inside With Pictures
these pictures are showing the
internal components of the servers
which is similar to the components of any
usual computer device
from RAM, CPU hard disks, power and others
